Description

Angus is renowned for producing high-quality, heavily marbled, and tender beef. It is that classic, traditional texture and taste that has earned it a place as a favorite go-to. There are several options you can choose from: the whole cow, half, or a quarter; however much freezer space you can hold, or to share with/go in on with family and friends. You can also choose between grain-finished or grass-finished depending on your preference and taste.

Grain-Finished Half Beef – $9.14/lb hanging weight
(Hanging weight, also called carcass weight, is the weight of the dressed carcass before aging and cutting)
An average-sized half cow at 300 lbs. hanging weight yields approximately 180–195 lbs. of packaged beef — a total of $2,800.

All our cattle are grass-fed on open pasture and raised without antibiotics or added hormones. In the final 100+ days, we switch them to a grain-based diet, which increases intramuscular fat (marbling) for better texture, taste, and juiciness. Grain-finishing produces well-marbled, consistently flavorful beef that’s hard to find at the grocery store. This results in meat that is leaner, more flavorful, and more nutrient-dense than conventionally-raised beef. At $8/lb hanging weight, you’re getting a significantly better value full of vitamins, nutrients, and proteins is than when you buy the same cuts individually at retail.

Grass-Finished Half Beef – $10.67/lb hanging weight
(Hanging weight, also called carcass weight, is the weight of the dressed carcass before aging and cutting)

An average-sized half cow at 300 lbs. hanging weight yields approximately 175–190 lbs. of packaged beef — a total of $2,850.

Our cattle are grass-finished on open pasture and raised without antibiotics or added hormones. Grass-finishing produces leaner, cleaner beef that’s naturally 20% lower in calories than grain-finished beef and is higher in Omega-3s, CLA’s (Conjugated Linoleic Acid — an essential fatty acid that fights cancer and inhibits body fat) and other key nutrients than conventionally-raised beef. The flavor is distinct — less marbled than grain-finished, but rich and true to what beef used to taste like. At $9.50/lb hanging weight, you’re still getting a better value than buying the same cuts individually at retail.
